About the Author

About Jim Petersen, PhD

Jim Petersen, PhD joined a major financial services company in 1983 while continuing a 22-year career in the US Navy and US Navy Reserve. He served as a submarine officer and retired with the rank of Captain (O-6). Jim retired from financial services at the end of 2018 to pursue other interests, having served in multiple positions in the field and the home office.

He holds a BS degree from the US Naval Academy, two MS degrees and a PhD from The American College of Financial Services. He is a recipient of The American College Alumni Hall of Fame Award. He was Chair of the Leadership program for The American College.
